Coco Gauff vs Aryna Sabalenka Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA US Open

Aryna Sabalenka bids to win her second Grand Slam title of the year. The second seed takes on sixth seeded Cori Gauff who is attempting to win her maiden Grand Slam title. Sabalenka will take over as the new world number one in the next rankings list. The 25-year-old is also top of the WTA Live Race and has had an incredible 2023. The Belarusian hadn't made a Grand Slam final before this year. That soon changed when winning the Australian Open and that's also played on an outdoor hard court. Since then, Sabalenka has reached the last four at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon and now this Flushing Meadows final. A win over Gauff will see her open up a near 1800 points lead at the top of the rankings. Sabalenka has been in dominant form in this tournament and has reached the last four without dropping a set. In the last that run came to a shocking end as she failed to win a single game in the first set. Sabalenka fought back to win the next two sets but needed a tie-break in each to get the win. A better start is definitely needed in this US Open final.

Cori Gauff is in only her second Grand Slam final. The other was last year at Roland Garros but that was played on clay. The 19-year-old has won three hard court titles this year and two in recent weeks. Victories came in Washington and Cincinnati. Gauff is up to fifth in the live rankings but a win over Sabalenka will see her rise to third. It's not been the easiest route to the final for the American. Sets have been dropped against Laura Siegemund, Elise Mertens and Caroline Wozniacki. Her progress in the last two rounds has been smoother with straight sets wins over Jelena Ostapenko and Karolina Muchova. Gauff leads her opponent 3-2 in previous meetings. The most recent one was at Indian Wells this year with Sabalenka winning 6-4 6-0. It should be closer this time around but we go for Sabalenka to win the title.
