Flavio Cobolli vs Zizou Bergs Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP US Open

Before this year, neither 31st seed Flavio Cobolli or unseeded Zizou Bergs had reached the US Open main draw. It's gone much better this year and the pair face each other in the second round. Here's our match prediction.

Flavio Cobolli has now reached at least the second round of all the Grand Slams played this year. Previously in this hard court tournament he'd twice lost in the qualifying rounds. This year saw him automatically go into the main draw.

He was ranked  a career-high 31st in the latest list and that's 106 places higher than he was when losing in the first qualifying round here last year. The first round of this tournament saw him defeat unseeded James Duckworth in four sets.

That's set a new career-high as he's now 30th in the Live ATP Race.  Recent form on hard courts has been good with two top 20 players - Felix Auger-Aliassime and Tommy Paul - being beaten.

His best result on this surface in 2024 came in July as he made it all the way to the final in Washington.  

Zizou Bergs was ranked 80th in the latest ranking list. His career-high was 73rd but he's beaten that and is now 70th in the live rankings. He'd lost in the qualifying rounds in each of his three times in this tournament.

He gained automatic entry this year and had a tough five-set victory over Pavel Kotov in round one. He twice led by a set but ended up having to go to a final set tie-break to secure his first main draw win here.

It's only his second time in round two of a Grand Slam, the other being at Roland Garros. Last week saw him get to the last 16 in WInston Salem. We go for over 3.5 sets to be played here.
