Eighth seed Zhizhen Zhang faces unseeded opposition in round two of the Hamburg Open. The winner of this match goes into the quarter-finals of this clay court tournament. Their opponent will be either top seed  Alexander Zverev or unseeded Hugo Gaston.

Zhang is up to a career-high 33rd in the live rankings and hoping to get into the top 32 and be seeded at the upcoming US Open. A win over Cobolli could see him set a new career-high depending on results elsewhere.
