Flavio Cobolli vs Jan-Lennard Struff Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Stuttgart Open

Seventh seed Jan-Lennard Struff begins his BOSS Open campaign against unseeded Flavio Cobolli. An unseeded opponent will also be faced in round two, either Arthur Rinderknech or Alex Michelsen. Struff is the world number 35 so will be going all out in the coming weeks to secure a seeding at Wimbledon. The Austrian hasn't won a match in that Grand Slam since 2019 but has twice reached the third round. Struff was the losing finalist in this tournament last year, being beaten by Frances Tiafoe. He won the first set of that final but lost the next two on tie-breaks. Struff beat both Hubert Hurkacz and Tommy Paul on his way to the final so will hope for another good run this year. He's beaten his opponent in both of their previous meetings but this is their first match on grass.

Flavio Cobolli would much prefer this match to be played on clay. The world number 50 rarely plays on grass and hasn't won a match on this surface. Cobolli has played just two matches on grass and both saw him lose in the first qualifying round of the Wimbledon Championships. The Italian lost to Holger Rune in the second round at Roland Garros and has had some success on clay and hard courts this year. Now he turns his hand to grass courts but this is a tough first round match. We tip Struff to win this in straight sets.
