Flavio Cobolli vs Daniil Medvedev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Beijing Open

The quarter-finals of the hard court China Open sees third seed Daniil Medvedev take on unseeded Flavio Cobolli. The winner will face either Carlos Alcaraz or Karen Khachanov in the last four. Here's our match prediction.

World number five Daniil Medvedev is still trying to win his first ATP Tour singles title of the year. Not since 2017 has he gone a calendar year without lifting a trophy so he'll be keen to avoid repeating that.

The Russian has been consistent though and reached at least the fourth round in all the Grand Slams. He lost in the final of the Australian Open and was the runner-up at Indian Wells this year.

Before this tournament though, he'd lost to Jannik SInner in the US Open quarter-final and lost both of his Laver Cup singles matches. This week has gone better with a straight sets win over Adrian Mannarino.

He did have to save a set point in that match though. He's had one previous match against Cobolli and it was a recent one. Medvedev beat the Italian in straight sets in this year's US Open losing ten games.

Flavio Cobolli is up to 30th in the live rankings after this run to the last eight in Beijing. That's beaten his previous career high of 30th that was set in August. In the Live ATP Race, he's 29th, 25 places behind his opponent.

The Italian reached the final of the Washington hard court tournament that was played last month.  This week has sen him play two matches, beginning with a come-from-behind win over eighth seeded Alexander Bublik.

Round two saw him defeat qualifier Pavel Kotov in straight sets. This is tougher and we tip Medvedev to win without dropping a set.
