Flavio Cobolli vs Daniil Medvedev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP US Open

Two seeds meet in the third round of the 2024 US Open. Fifth seed Daniil Medvedev takes on Flavio Cobolli who is the 31st seed for this hard court Grand Slam. Who will make it into the last 16? Below is our match prediction.

Medvedev is fifth in the live rankings and a place higher in the ATP Race. It's nearly September and the Russian is yet to win an ATP Tour singles title this year. 2023 saw him win five titles but Medvedev has still had a good 2024.

Two finals have been reached and he's reached three other semi-finals with all bar one being achieved on hard courts. He relishes playing in Grand Slams and a win here will mean he's made at least round four in six consecutive Grand Slams.

The Russian won this title in 2021 and that is still the only Grand Slam title he's ever won. Two more finals have been reached in New York, including last year. His two wins this week have been earned against Dusan Lajovic and Fabian Marozsan with one set dropped.

Flavio Cobolli is up a place to 30th in the live rankings and is four places higher in the ATP Race. The Italian is playing in the main draw in the US Open for the first time. His previous two visits here both saw him lose in the qualifiers.

Cobolli has dropped a set in both of his wins this week. James Duckworth won the second set against him in round one and then Cobolli had to come from behind against Zizou Bergs after dropping the opener.

Last month saw him reach the final of the Washington hard court tournament. He doesn't look to be in that form at present and we tip Medvedev to win in straight sets.
