Casper Ruud is one match away from his third Geneva Open final. The second seed takes on unseeded Flavio Cobolli in a match that was due to be played on Friday but was delayed. It'll mean the winner will have two matches on Saturday, this semi-final and then a final against unseeded Tomas Machac. Ruud has twice won this outdoor clay court tournament with wins in 2021 and 2022. He lost in the quarter-finals last year but is well placed to again reach the final in Geneva. That could be against Novak DJokovic, who Ruud could also meet in the last eight at Roland Garros. The Norwegian is seventh in the live rankings and fourth in the ATP Race. This week didn't start too well with him having to go to a final set to beat qualifier Sebastian Ofner. He also needed a final set when beating fifth seeded Sebastian Baez in the last eight but this time it was the middle one.

Flavio Cobolli is up to a career-high 53rd in the live rankings and can climb to 48th if winning this match. The Italian had only reached one last 16 on clay before this tournament. That was in Marrakech and he only had to win one match to get to that stage. Cobolli has beaten one seed so far in this tournament. That was in round two when beating fourth seed Ben Shelton in three sets after losing the one. That's sandwiched between a first round win over Aslan Karatsev and a quarter-final victory over unseeded Alexander Shevchenko, both in straight sets. This is far tougher and we go for Ruud to win without dropping a set.
