The Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat will face off in Game 2 of their first-round NBA Playoff series at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Wednesday night. The Cavs lead the series 1-0 after winning Game 1, 121-100 on Sunday. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

After a somewhat underwhelming end to the season, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ offence produced a commanding performance in the fourth quarter in Game 1 to take the lead in the series. 

While Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland were firing on all cylinders, it was Ty Jerome who caught the eye for Cleveland, with the guard erupting for 28 points, five rebounds and three assists. 

Notably, Jerome directly contributed to 26 straight points in the fourth quarter. Jerome, Mitchell and Garland also became only the third trio of guards to put up 25 points apiece in a game in Playoff history. 

Meanwhile, after defying the odds to reach the Playoffs from 10th place, the Miami Heat struggled to keep pace with the Cavs and looked leggy late in the piece on Sunday.

Tyler Herro was evidence of this, having started the game brilliantly, scoring 17 points in the first half but only four in the second period, as Cleveland pulled away in the fourth quarter. 

Miami’s greatest strength this season has been their defence, and unless they can rediscover their aggression on D, they could be staring at an early exit from the postseason.
