The Brooklyn Nets will be looking to take the top spot in the Eastern Conference when they face off against the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Quicken Loans Arena on Monday. The Nets are currently second in the East with a 27-15 record and trail the first place Bulls by just a half game. They will come up against a Cavs team that has been one of the surprise packages of this year's NBA season. Cleveland currently sits sixth in the East with a record of 26-18 and have won four straight. Brooklyn will be hoping to build on their last game, a 120-105 home victory over the Pelicans, as the Nets have only won four of their last six games.

The Nets suffered a huge blow with the injury of superstar Kevin Durant in their last game. The NBA’s leading scorer looks set to miss about a month and Brooklyn fans will have to wait even longer to see their big three start consistent games together on the court. The good news for the Nets is that Kyrie Irving is now eligible to play in road games. His presence, along with James Harden, should give the nets enough firepower to win this game. The Nets currently boast one of the league’s best road records at 15-4. It certainly won’t be an easy game though, as the Cavs have been hugely impressive this season. One of the league’s best defenses, the Cavs have been powered by the consistent play of the likely rookie of the year in Evan Mobley. Cleveland have won six of their last 10 and have a home record of 11-9.
