Clara Tauson vs Camila Osorio Prediction & Betting Tips - Charleston 2, USA, Qualifying

Clara Tauson only celebrated her 18th birthday last December but is chasing her second WTA Tour title of the year. The Dane takes on Maria Camila Osorio Serrano in the quarter final of the MUSC Health Women's Open in Charlestown. Tauson began the week ranked 101st in the world but will climb into the top 100 after reaching the last eight of this clay tournament in Charleston. Her 2021 began well with victory in an ITF tournament held in the United Arab Emirates. The first Grand Slam of the year didn't go well for her as Tauson was beaten in the first qualifying round. Back on the ITF circuit, Tauson won a tournament in Germany but then came the best week of her career. Tauson won the ATP 250 series event held in Lyon and that was after having to play two qualifying rounds. The Dane won seven matches that week without dropping a set with wins over three top 100 players, including Ekaterina Alexandrova, ranked 33rd at the time. Her first clay tournament of the year was in Colombia but she lost in the last 32 to Daniela Seguel who was ranked outside the top 200. This week has gone a lot better for her with two straight set wins including beating the sixth seeded Alja Tomljanovic. 

Maria Camila Osorio Serrano is making big moves up the rankings. The Colombian began the week ranked 135th, a rise of 45 places after her victory and 70 higher than she was this time last year. Her big win came in her home country winning a WTA clay tournament, coming from a set down to beat Tamara Zidansek in the final. Two top 100 players were beaten by her in that tournament. That was her fourth clay title, the other three being on the ITF circuit.  Serrano failed to make it to the first round of the Australian Open but back on the ITF circuit, reached the last eight of two tournaments held in Florida, USA. This tournament saw her having a tough first round draw but she beat second seeded Magda Linette in three sets. There was another difficult match for her in the second round. She had to come from a set down to beat Christina McHale. Tauson looks in the better form and can win this match.
