Christopher Eubanks vs Marcos Giron Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Newport Open

Fourth seed Christopher Eubanks faces second-seeded Marcos Giron for a place in the final of the Hall of Fame Open. The winner will be up against either third seed Alex Michelsen or wild card Reilly Opelka in Sunday’s final.

Eubanks began this tournament ranked 128th in the world. This run to the last four of this grass court tournament has seen him rise to 105th. WInning this match can take him back into the top 100 and possibly as high as 94th.

The 2023 Wimbledon quarter finalist also reached the last eight of the Halle Open this year. This week has seen the American beat qualifier Ethan Quinn in three sets, losing the middle one. In the lquarter-finals he beat  sixth-seeded Aleksandar Vukic in three sets, again losing the second.

There's been one previous meeting with Giron and that was five years ago with Eubanks winning a hard court match in straight sets.

Second-seeded Marcos Giron is the highest remaining seed left in this tournament. He was 46th in the latest ranking list but has risen to 44th thanks to reaching this semi-final. A win over Eubanks will take Giron into his second ATP Tour final of the year. The other was in Dallas but that was played on a hard court.

This is his first grass court semi-final of the year. His previous best had been getting to the last eight in the Halle Open. He showed his ability on this surface though with wins over Andrey Rublev and Matteo Berrettini.

After a second round loss to Alexander Zverev at Wimbledon, Giron has returned to form this week. He beat unseeded Benoit Paire in his first match, though he did lose the first set. In the quarter-final, the American beat Alex Bolt losing just five games. We tip him to win this semi-final.
