Christopher Eubanks vs Daniil Medvedev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Miami
by Devesh Jaganath | in Tennis Predictions
The quarter-final of the Miami Open is set to get underway this week, and for the first time in their careers, Christopher Eubanks and Daniil Medvedev will face off on Thursday evening, hoping for a semi-final berth. Ranked 119th in the world, Eubanks has had a fair season to date, which started in Auckland, where he reached the round of 16 before being knocked out by David Goffin. At Delray Beach, the American got to the round of 32, overcoming Mitchell Krueger and Aleksander Vukic in the qualifying rounds but was unable to repeat that performance at Indian Wells, where he bowed out in his first qualifier against Maximilian Marterer. Eubans has already recorded his best performance of the year here in Miami, having already played six matches, beating the likes of Borna Coric (3-6, 6-4, 6-2), Gregoire Barrere (6-3, 7-6), and Adrian Mannarino (7-6, 7-6) in the previous rounds. Eubanks will know that he is coming up against a different type of challenge now in Medvedev and will need to pull off the upset of the tournament if he is to progress to the semi-final.
Meanwhile, Medvedev has arguably been the most in-form player this year, boasting an incredible record of 26 - 3 to date. The number 5 ranked player in the world has made it to the final in each of the last four tournaments that he has participated in and has gone on to lift the title in three of those four finals. The first came in Rotterdam, where he overpowered Jannik Sinner (5-7, 6-2, 6-2). In Doha, he met the veteran Andy Murray in the final and proved too strong for the Brit, beating him (6-4, 6-4). A final in Dubai against his countryman Andrey Rublev followed a couple of weeks later, but Medvedev was too good for the higher-ranked Russian and won in straight sets (6-2, 6-2). Medvedev’s only disappointment in the last two months came last week at Indian Wells, where he was beaten by the world number one Carlos Alcaraz (6-3, 6-2). Medvedev is in the form of his life and will have his eyes firmly set on yet another final appearance in this one.

Eubanks has fought valiantly in this tournament and has emerged as one of the surprise packages here in Miami. However, he now comes up against a player that is dispatching all-comers in recent times, with most unsure of how to stop the dominant Russian. With the record he is carrying over the last two months, it’s hard to go against another win for Medvedev in this one.
