Brazil begin their United Cup campaign with a match against China. This is being played in Perth, Australia and is the first match in Group E which also includes defending champions Germany. Here's our match prediction.
This mixed team tournament sees three matches played in each tie. Brazil definitely have the edge in the opening women's singles match. They have Beatriz Haddad Maia who is the world number 17. The 28-year-old has won one WTA event this year, winning the Korea Open three months ago.
Maia takes on Xinyu Gao who is down at 175 in the rankings. The Chinese player hasn't won a match in the main draw of a WTA tournament since September. Next up will be a men's singles match as Brazil's Thiago Monteiro, who is ranked 109th against China's Zhizhen Zhang. His opponent is ranked 45th but had a miserable end to last season.
Zhang lost his last six matches and only won one set. That poor run began with his loss in the Hangzhou final in September. Monteiro's form wasn't a great deal better and this tie may go to the deciding mixed doubles.
If that is the case, it'll be Maia and world number 26 doubles player Rafael Matos who we believe will lead Brazil to victory.
