Chicago Bulls vs Cleveland Cavaliers Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA Summer League
by Joseph King | in Basketball Predictions
The NBA Summer League enters the fourth of the five game ‘regular season’ with the 3-0 Cleveland Cavaliers taking on the 2-1 Chicago Bulls. The Cavaliers have been extremely impressive in this competition despite entering the Summer League with the ninth highest odds to claim the crown. Many likely overlooked Cleveland due to a lack of first round draft pick talent in their squad. However, the hard-nosed attitude and lunch pail like mentality of the group have made them arguably the best team competing in Las Vegas. The Cavaliers starting five is composed entirely of second-round draft picks selected over the past three seasons. While other squads may have started with some high-profile first round picks, many of those players are no longer taking part as management decides to rest them to avoid injury. The Cavs don’t have that problem which has allowed for a good level of cohesion to form in the team. Their last game resulted in a 100-77 win over the Grizzlies.
The Bulls squad is composed mostly of G-League and undrafted players. There are only three players on this team that were selected in the past four years in the NBA Draft. Chicago’s only first round draft pick in the squad, Dalen Terry, has really struggled in Las Vegas. The 18th overall selection in the 2022 draft has shot just 26% from the field in three games played in this tournament so far and is averaging just 10.3 points per game. The Bulls best player in the Summer League so far has been undrafted Javon Freeman-Liberty who is averaging 21.3 points on 54% shooting while also dishing out five assists and grabbing 4.3 rebounds. Chicago won their most recent game by a score of 107-99 against the Kings. Both of Chicago’s wins have come by single digit margins.

Our Chicago Bulls vs Cleveland Cavaliers Prediction
Cleveland are on a roll at the moment and will look to separate themselves from the rest of the pack with another win here. They are one of only three teams with a perfect 3-0 record heading into the eighth day of the tournament. Chicago have performed fairly well in Vegas to earn their 2-1 record. However, there are serious questions as to whether the Bulls have enough talent to maintain their current level of play. The Cavs smothering defense shouldn’t have too much trouble against a Bulls team that has already shown some offensive struggles. Our Cleveland Cavaliers vs Chicago Bulls prediction is for the Cavaliers to win and cover the -4.5 point spread.
