Chicago Bulls vs Boston Celtics Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA
by Joseph King | in NBA Predictions
The beginning of the 2022/23 NBA season continues with a classic Eastern Conference matchup when the Chicago Bulls host the Boston Celtics at the United Center. It’s been a tough start to the new campaign for the Bulls, who suffered a 32-point loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in their last game to put their record at 1-2 through the first three games. The opposite can be said for the Celtics, who have started with a perfect 3-0 record after getting past the pesky Orlando Magic 126-120 in their last outing. After a difficult offseason which saw the Celtics forced to suspend their head coach, the hot start to the season is just what the team needed as they gear up for another finals run after finishing as the runners-up to the Warriors last year. On the other side, the Bulls will be desperate to get a win here and get back to .500 to avoid falling into an early season hole.

Chicago Bulls - Boston Celtics: Form Analysis
Boston finished as the second seed in the East last season on a 51-31 record before their first finals appearance since the 2010 season. They certainly have an excellent chance to grab the number one seed this season and if their early season form is anything to go by, will be amongst the favorites to represent the East for a second straight season in the NBA Finals. The Bulls will likely struggle to slow down this Boston offense which is averaging 121 points over the first three games, a number which includes having to face off against two very tough defenses in Philadelphia and Miami. It will be interesting to see how Chicago responds after the heavy loss and dropping two consecutive games on the bounce.

Chicago Bulls & Boston Celtics Squad Analysis
Boston’s star backcourt of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have started the year red-hot, with Tatum in particular looking ready to make the jump into the top echelon of NBA players. The 24-year-old has scored 104 points over the first three games of the year, for an average of 34.7 per game. Not to be overshadowed by his teammate, Brown has put up a very respectable 25 points per game of his own to start the season. For the hosts, it will certainly come as a huge boost to get Zach Lavine back on the court after the 27-year-old played his first minutes of the season in the loss to the Cavs. Lavine registered 28 minutes and looked sharp, pouring in 23 points.

Our Chicago Bulls vs Boston Celtics Prediction
We’re going to back the Boston Celtics to get the win and cover the -4.5 point spread in the process. The line may look a bit heavy at first with the visitors laying almost five points against a Chicago team that were a solid six seed last season, however the line is justified given the Celtics phenomenal play to start the season. The Bulls will have no answer for the duo of Tatum and Brown as they have really struggled to limit opposition field goal percentage so far this season, sitting at over 50%. Boston’s team is too deep and there are too many ways that they can make life difficult for the Bulls to bet against them in this matchup.
