Not since 2010 have the Chicago Bears made it to the play-offs and this is their first winning season since 2012. Last season saw them only win five games and this new season began with a one-point defeat by the Green Bay Packers. They bounced back with three straight wins including a 48-10 thrashing of Tampa Bay Bucaneers. Their season suffered a blow when they lost the next two to go to 3-3 but they won the next five before losing to the New York Giants. At 8-4 it was still in the balance if they'd make the play-offs but they won their last four games to take their first divisional title since 2010.

Philadelphia Eagles are the reigning Super Bowl champions but their grasp is being to loosen. They had a 9-7 regular season and finished second behind the Dallas Cowboys in NFC East. Their defence of the Super Bowl title began with two wins out of three but by week ten they'd slumped to 4-6. Injuries to Rodney McLeod and Jay Alayi didn't help their cause. They pulled their record back to 6-6 before losing in overtime at the Dallas Cowboys. They clinched a wildcard place by winning their final three matches including wins over LA Rams and Houston Texans who both won their divisions.  Chicago look to have the edge in this game, particularly with home advantage and they can get the win and move onto a divisional game against the LA Rams.
