Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals Prediction & Betting Tips - Indian Premier League

The iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium will be the venue for match 17 of 70 in the Indian Premier League, and it will feature the Chennai Super Kings hosting the Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday afternoon. After three rounds of matches, the leaderboard is starting to take shape, and the visitors find themselves among the front runners in the early stages, currently placed second, two points behind the Super Giants at the top. The Rajasthan Royals took their record to two wins and one loss for the tournament after winning their last match in impressive fashion over the Delhi Capitals over the weekend. Jos Butler and Yashasvi Jaiswal headlined for the Royals with the bat scoring 79 and 60, respectively, en route to posting 199/4 in their 20 overs. Their good batting display was backed up with the ball as Yuzvendra Chahal and Trent Boult bagged three wickets each, while Ravi Ashwin went about his business as usual, notching up two wickets for just 25 runs in his four overs. The Royals have enjoyed success over this opponent in recent times, winning four of their last five encounters, and will want to continue that excellent record as they look to maintain the pressure on the side at the top of the standings. 

The Chennai Super Kings didn’t get their IPL campaign off to a good start when they were beaten comprehensively by the defending champions, the Gujarat Titans, in the tournament opener. However, since then, they appear to have found their rhythm, winning the next two matches against the current leaders, the Super Giants, and most recently against their long-time rivals, the Mumbai Indians, last Saturday. Following that match, Ruturaj Gaikwad moved into the second spot for the orange cap with another excellent display with the bat to add to his back-to-back half-centuries from the opening two matches. The Super King's strength undisputedly lies in their batting lineup, as their bowlers are yet to impress, with Tushar Deshpande currently leading the way with five wickets in three matches. In front of their home crowd for this encounter, the Super Kings will need to make the most of their home-field advantage, knowing that their opponents have lots of quality in their ranks with both bat and ball.
