The Charlotte Hornets lost by seven points in a 103-96 away defeat against the Dallas Mavericks. As a team, they shot 40.8% from the field and were limited to a lowly 25.9% from the arc.

Mark Williams led the team with 26 points, had 16 rebounds, while Miles Bridges contributed 20 points and had 12 rebounds and 6 assists. 

The Hornets have been in really bad shape and have been accustomed to losing consecutive games. Coming into this game, they are on a five-match losing streak. It has to be pointed out that they've won just one of their last nine outings (L8).

The Washington Wizards were unlucky not to have seen off the threat of the favoured Portland Trail Blazers as they lost 129-121 at home. As a team, they shot an impressive 51.8% from the field compared to the Blazers 44.6%.

Jordan Poole led the team with 24 points, while Richuan Holmes and Corey Kispert contributed 20 points.

The Wizards have been poor heading into this clash. They have a 1-7 record in their last eight outings. It's also worth mentioning that they have won three of their previous four away matches.
