The Charlotte Hornets play host to the Indiana Pacers for this NBA Eastern Conference clash on Monday. Charlotte was able to finally put an end to an ugly 10-game losing streak by defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 115-106 on Saturday. It marked only the 11th win of the season for the Hornets who now sit 13th in the East with a 11-41 record, the fourth worst record in the NBA. The hosts have been dealing with a number of injury problems all year and have most recently seen PJ Washington shipped to the Mavericks in exchange for Grant Williams, Seth Curry and a 2027 first-round pick. They’ll also seemingly have to make due without their young franchise player in LaMelo Ball as the 22-year-old point guard closes in on a return. Charlotte has posted a 4-26 without Ball this season compared to 7-15 when he is on the court.

Indiana enters this matchup looking for back-to-back wins after a 125-111 away win over a banged-up Knicks squad. The Pacers have now won three of their last four with one of those results being a 115-99 away win over the Hornets one week ago. Indiana’s positive run has them up to sixth in the East standings with a record of 30-24, a half game ahead of the Magic in seventh. A win here for Indiana could see them cut the gap on the plummeting fifth-place 76ers to just a single game. Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton played 30 minutes for the first time since returning from injury seven games ago. The 23-year-old put up 22 points 12 assists, with Myles Turner leading the team with 23 points and the recently-acquired Pascal Siakam adding 19. The Pacers will hope to carry over their red-hot shooting which saw them register 61% from the field and 48.3% from three in the win over New York.
