The 14th-place Charlotte Hornets host the 11th-placed Brooklyn Nets for this Eastern Conference NBA matchup. The Hornets have a record of 14-48 while the Nets come in with a mark of 21-41. Here’s our prediction for the match.

The Hornets battled valiantly in their 118-117 loss to the first-place Cavaliers last night, coming back from an 11-point halftime deficit. Miles Bridges had a chance to win it with a half court heave as time expired but failed to connect with the rim.

The result is the Hornets having lost their ninth game in a row and dropping to the second-worst record in the entire NBA.

While it may not seem like it due to their win/loss record, Charlotte has a solid defense. It’s the scoring that has let them down as they rank 28th with just 105.4 points per game.

As for the Nets, they’re also on an ugly stretch of form with six losses in a row. They too were involved in a tightly-contested contest in their last outing, falling 121-119 to the Golden State Warriors with Stephen Curry dropping 40 on their heads at the Barclays Center.

Cameron Johnson led the team in scoring in that game with 26 points. Unfortunately for Brooklyn, they’ll be without his services on Saturday as he’s been ruled out with a knee injury.
