Casper Ruud vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Barcelona

Casper Ruud is the highest remaining seed in the Barcelona Open. He's seeded third and in the semi-final of this outdoor clay court tournament faces the 13th-seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry. If Ruud wins, we could see a repeat of last week's Monte Carlo Masters final if Stefanos Tsitsipas can win his semi-final. Ruud is fifth in the live rankings and fourth in the ATP Race. Reaching the final will take him into third on the latter of those two lists. He's reached this semi-final without dropping a set. Wins have come against Alexandre Muller, 14th-seeded Jordan Thompson and in the quarter-final, Matteo Arnaldi. There's been one previous match against his opponent. That was on a hard court in Beijing last year with Ruud winning in three sets.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry has continued his good form on clay courts this year. This is his second semi-final of the year following on from a last four appearance in the US Clay Court Championships. He’s also been in three other clay court quarter-finals in 2024. It’s not been an easy route to the last four for the Argentinian. He had to come from a set down to get past unseeded Brandon Nakashima in round two. Friday saw him defeat the 12th seed Cameron Norrie in straight sets. That was a close match with both of the sets being decided via a tie-break. It took him just short of two-and-a-half hours to beat Norrie, an hour more than Ruud took to win his match. We tip Ruud to get the win and reach his second successive final.
