The second round of the Paris Masters sees seventh seed Casper Ruud face unseeded Jordan Thompson. The seeded player that could be faced in round three of this indoor hard court tournament is Tommy Paul. Here's our match prediction.

Casper Ruud is ranked eighth in the latest list and a place higher in the Live ATP Race. The latter would be good enough to see him qualify for the Tour Finals but he's only 300 points above ninth-placed Alex de Minaur.

The 25-year-old reached the last eight in Stockholm earlier this month but has lost his last two matches and five of his last six. He'll be out for revenge in this match as last month he lost to Thompson in straight sets in Tokyo.

Jordan Thompson has won four of his seven previous matches against Ruud and 3-1 up on hard courts. That win in Tokyo was his third win in four matches against Ruud.

The Australian was a career-high 28th in Monday's ranking list and a win here will take him up to 27th. The 30-year-old had lost four of his last five matches (the only win being against Ruud) before the first round of this tournament.

He found some form in round one with a straight sets win over Pedro Martinez. We tip him to beat Ruud.
