Europe will be hoping to win the hard court Laver Cup for the first time since 2021. They'll certainly be out for revenge after being hammered 13-2 in last year's tournament.
Casper Ruud is the world number nine and has an excellent Laver Cup record. He's playing in his fourth tournament and has won all three of his previous matches. Last year saw him beat Tommy Paul in straight sets, the only match Europe won.
Ruud is best known for his results on clay but has reached two hard court finals this year. He's played six previous matches against Cerundolo and the pair are level at 3-3. On hard courts, they are level at 1-1.
Their last match was in this year's Paris Olympics with Ruud winning the clay court match in straight sets. Francisco Cerundolo will need a win here to maintain his unbeaten record in the Laver Cup.
His only previous appearance was last year when he beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. The world number 31 represented Argentina in the Davis Cup last week. He won his two matches but was then beaten by Denis Shapovalov.
Cerundolo mainly plays on clay and his best form on hard courts this year was when getting to the Miami quarter-final. Only twice this year has he won two matches in the main draw of an ATP Tour hard court event.
