Casper Ruud vs Francisco Cerundolo Prediction & Betting Tips - Olympic Tournament

Sixth seed Casper Ruud has a tough match in round three of the Paris Olympics men's singles. The Norwegian faces unseeded Francisco Cerundolo from Argentina and this could well be a tight match. Read our prediction to discover why.

Cerundolo may be unseeded but last weekend he won the clay court Croatian Open. The world number 26 has played Ruud on five previous occasions and leads him 3-2. He's 2-1 up on clay and there have been some tight matches.

The last two matches they've had on clay both saw a tie-break played. Cerundolo had a smooth first round match beating Chile's Tomas Barrios Vera with only three games being lost. Then came a marathon 37 game match in which he beat the tenth seed Ugo Humbert. He's won at least one set in each of his last ten matches.

Casper Ruud has twice reached the final of the French Open at Roland Garros. The world number nine was knocked out in the semi-final this year by Alexander Zverev. His form hasn't been great since that defeat.

He lost in round two at Wimbledon and most recently in his first match in his return to clay at Båstad. This tournament has seen him beat Japan's Taro Daniel in straight sets and then had to come from a set down to beat Andrea Vavassori. We go for Cerundolo to win at least one set in this match.
