Casper Ruud vs Federico Coria Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Bastad Open

Casper Ruud has returned to form this week and can win the Swedish Open on Sunday. The 22-year-old takes on unseeded Federico Coria, bidding to win his second clay court tournament of the year. Ruud has been climbing the rankings this year. He started 2021 in 27th place but in the live rankings is up to 14th. His one title this year was won in Geneva, beating Denis Shapovalov in the final. Before that, he'd been racking up the ranking points with semi-finals in Monte Carlo, Munich and Madrid. He lost in the first round at Wimbledon but has bounced back to form this week in Bastad. Wins have come against Holger Rune and Roberto Caballes Baena with only seven games lost. 

Federico Coria began this week ranked 77th but is up to 63rd in the live rankings due to his run to this final. A win over Ruud will take him into the top 60, not bad considering he was was as low as 103rd in June. Beating Ruud isn't that likely though but he'll settle with 63rd. He has won a Challenger title this year but didn't beat anyone ranked in the top 150. Coria has also made Challenger finals in Italy and Austria. This week has seen him beat  Francisco Cerundolo and Marco Cecchinato (coming from a set down), second seed Cristian Garin in three sets and in the semi-final, Yannick Hanfmann. Coria has won his two previous matches against Ruud but those matches were three and five years ago. Ruud has improved a great deal since then and can get a straight sets win here.
