Casper Ruud vs Denis Shapovalov Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Geneva Open

Denis Shapovalov hasn't been showing his top form for most of this year. He's been better this week though and the second seed takes on Casper Ruud (seeded third) in the final of the Geneva Open. Shapovalov is the world number 15, a drop of three places from when the year started. His year didn't start that well down under. He lost both his matches in the ATP Cup and only reached the last 32 of the Australian Open. Before this week, his best effort had been in reaching the last four in Dubai, though no players in the top 30 were beaten before losing in three sets to Lloyd Harris who was ranked 81st at the time. This is his fifth clay court tournament of the year. Before this tournament in Geneva, his best performance had been a last 16 in Rome last week. There were signs of improved form as he took Rafael Nadal to three sets. This week has seen the Canadian have a few struggles. He needed to go to three sets against Marco Cecchinato but since then has beaten Laslo Djere and Pablo Cuevas. 

In contrast, Casper Ruud has had an impressive 2021. He began the year ranked 27th and is now 21st and up to 16th in the live rankings. In terms of points earned this year, the Norwegian is up to 11th and will go into the top ten if winning this final. Highlights of his year include semi-finals in Madrid (where he beat Stefanos Tsitsipas), Munich and Monte Carlo, so he's having a great clay court season and is one to watch at the upcoming French Open. His good form has continued in Geneva with wins over Tennys Sandgren, coming from behind to beat Dominik Koepfer and in the semi-final beating Pablo Andujar, who had earlier beaten Roger Federer. This is his first match against Shapovalov and he can be backed to win his second ATP Main Tour final on clay.
