Caroline Garcia vs Nuria Parrizas Diaz Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Monterrey Open

Top seeded Caroline Garcia bids to reach the quarter finals of the Monterrey Open. Standing between a match with either seventh seed Mayar Sheriff or unseeded Wang Xinyu is Nuria Parrizas Diaz. Garcia began this week ranked fifth and winning this title will take her above Ons Jabeur into fourth place. The French player has won 12 of her 17 matches played this year. Garcia was also the top seed in the Lyon tournament but lost in the final to surprise winner Alycia Parks. The quarter finals were reached in Doha where she took Maria Sakkari to a third set tie-break. It didn't go quite so well in Dubai though as she lost her first match to Madison Keys in straight sets. A win over Diaz (who she's never faced before) will take her up from 11th in the Live WTA Race to 10th.

Nuria Parrizas Diaz started this tournament down in 78th position in the rankings. In the live list though the Spaniard is down to 87th place as she's defending the points won when reaching the last four here in 2022. Diaz made a steady start to the new year with a run to the last 16 in Hobart and the last 32 at the Australian Open. In the Grand Slam event, Diaz beat 14th seeded Beatriz Haddad Maia and was eventually beaten by Donna Vekic. It's not gone so well since then though with only one win in four matches in her next three tournaments. This week saw her beat Wang Xiyu but had to go to the final set to get the victory. This is a tougher assignment and it's Garcia who can get a straight sets victory.
