Caroline Garcia vs Martina Trevisan Prediction & Betting Tips - Lyon, France, Qualifying

French player Caroline Garcia made a great start to the Lyon Open. Garcia knocked out the top seeded Camila Giorgi and now faces Martina Trevisan in the second round. The winner of this match takes on either seventh seeded Alison Van Uytvanck or unseeded Varvara Gracheva in the quarter finals. Garcia is the world number 74 but in 2018 was as high as fourth. A steady start has been made to the new year. Garcia beat Jessica Pegula in Sydney but lost in the last eight to Barbora Krejcikova, who also recently beat her in Dubai. Last week saw her beat Simona Halep in Doha before being beaten by Coco Gauff. Garcia lost the first set to Giorgi in this tournament but only lost four games in the next two sets.

Martina Trevisan began the week ranked 92nd in the world, down from a career-high 66th achieved last year. Trevisan came through the qualifiers in the Australian Open but lost in the second round to Paula Badosa, winning just three games. The Italian then played on the lower ITF circuit and lost in the quarter finals of a tournament held in Grenoble to sixth seeded Katie Boulter. The two players she did beat were both ranked outside the top 200, including Alice Barnett who was ranked 611th that week but still took a set off Trevisan. Last week saw her back on the WTA circuit, losing in the first round to Stefanie Vogele in straight sets. Her first round match in Lyon was a win over Elisabetta Cocciaretto for the loss of five games. There has been one previous match between these two players with Garcia winning in straight sets in Dubai last year. Back Garcia to get another win in this match.
