Caroline Garcia is the highest remaining seed in the Guadalajara Open Akron. The French player is seeded fourth for this WTA 500 hard court tournament and faces sixth seed Marie Bouzkova. Read our match prediction below.

For the winner of this match, there's a semi-final against either fifth seed Magdalena Frech or wild card Marina Stakusic. 

Garcia was 30th in the latest WTA rankings and remains in that position in the live rankings A win over Bouzkova will see the 30-year-old reach the last four of this tournament for the second successive year.

Her form has not been good in recent weeks. Coming into this tournament she'd lost her last three matches, though only one was played on a hard court.

This week has seen her end that poor run. After receiving a first round bye, Garcia beat qualifier Ena Shibahara in straight sets. Both sets went to a tie-break in a match that lasted just short of two hours.

Marie Bouzkova is up to 41st in the live rankings and has an excellent record against Garcia. These two players have had four previous meetings and all of them have been won by the Czech.

The first three wins all came on grass courts but the most recent victory for Bouzkova was on a hard court last year. Last month saw Bouzkova reach the final of the Washington tournament and saw her defeat Aryna Sabalenka.

This week has seen her defeat two qualifiers, Alex Eala and Lucrezia Stefanini with only seven games dropped. This is tougher but we tip her to beat the inconsistent Garcia.
