Carlos Alcaraz vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Barcelona
by Devesh Jaganath | in Tennis Predictions
Carlos Alcaraz is just one win away from retaining his Barcelona Open title and standing in his way is Stefanso Tsitspas, who is in search of his first piece of silverware for the year. The top seed, Alcaraz, has taken on this opponent three times in the past and has won on all three occasions, with the most recent victory coming in the quarter-final stages of this tournament last year. This is Alcaraz’s fourth final appearance of the season, and he has lost only one of the previous three, at the Rio Open to Cameron Norrie. Since that loss, Alcaraz followed up with an incredible performance at Indian Wells, defeating Daniil Medvedev, and went on to reach the semi-final at the Miami Masters two weeks later. Here in Barcelona, Alcaraz has beaten Roberto Bautista Agut, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, and Daniel Evans, but this will be his toughest opponent by some margin. Those wins extend his record to 22-2 for the year and 12-1 on the clay. Against an opponent that he has bested in the past, Alcaraz will be confident that he can retain his title here on his home court in Spain.
Ranked fifth in the world and seeded second here in Barcelona, Tsitsipas has looked good on the clay surface this year and comes into this one following a quarter-final appearance in Monte Carlo. He now has his sights set on breaking his duck against this opponent, which will earn him his first piece of silverware for the year. With a solid record of 20-5 for the year, the Greek’s form in the main has been decent this year though he has found it difficult to kick on from his excellent showing at the Australian Open back in January. In this tournament, Tsitsipas overcame Pedro Cachin, Denis Shapovalov, and Alex De Minaur, beating them all in straight sets, and then saw off a resilient Lorenzo Musetti in the semi-final (6-4 5-7 6-3). Having never bested Alcaraz, the Greek will know that he will be up against it in this one and will likely need to put on his best performance of the year to snatch the title away from the in-form Spaniard.

Our Carlos Alcaraz vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Prediction
The defending champion is the deserved favourite for this clash and looks like he is in the form of his life. However, you can never discount the Greek, and he showed his resilience in the previous meeting, taking the match to a third set. That could well be the case again here, and odds of 2.5 for the match to reach three sets look very tempting and worth a go as a second wager; however, our main bet will be on a win for the Spaniard. Our Carlos Alcaraz v Stefanos Tsitsipas prediction is a win for Alcaraz.
