World number two Carlos Alcaraz will take on 25th-ranked Sebastian Korda in the semi-final of the 2023 Queen’s Club Championship on Saturday. The winner of this match will face either Holger Rune or Alex De Minaur in the final on Sunday. This is the fourth time that these two will play each other, with Alcaraz currently leading 2-1. After a shaky start against Arthur Rinderknech in the first round, Alcaraz has settled nicely here in London and looks well on his way to making his first grasscourt final of the year. He lost just five games against Jiri Lehecka in the second round and looked mostly untroubled against Grigor Dimitrov in the last round, beating the Bulgarian 6-4 6-4. Alcaraz is now 38-4 for the year and 3-0 on the grass. He has also already earned four major titles this year, and following a disappointment at Roland Garros, he looks determined to make it count as he builds toward Wimbledon next week. 

Korda hasn’t played as much as would have liked this year, as fitness issues played their part in keeping him off the court for almost three months. Since returning at the Madrid Masters, it hasn’t gone well for the American, with this being the only tournament that he has managed to get past the second round in. However, the grass swing has been promising for Korda, as he hasn’t dropped a single set yet. He has recorded wins over Daniel Evans, Frances Tiafoe, and Cameron Norrie already here in London, all players ranked above him. Korda is now 12-5 for the year and has bested Alcaraz once in the past, though that was on the clay. With limited match time and against one of the best in the world right now, Korda will need to deliver his best performance of the season to stand a chance here.
