Carlos Alcaraz vs Mikael Ymer Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Winston-Salem Open

Carlos Alcarez is the 15th seed for the Winston Salem Open. Actually, he's the only remaining seed in the tournament and takes on Mikhail Ymer for a place in the final. The winner of this match takes on either Ilya Ivashka or Emil Ruusuvouri in the final. Alcarez began this week as the world number 54 (a career high) and started this year in 141th  position. Alcarez is chasing his second ATP title of the year after winning a clay court tournament in Umag last month. Other 2021 highlights include winning a Challenger Tour tournament in Portugal, a run to last four in Marbella (again on clay) and  the second round of the Australian Open, where he lost in four sets to Ymer. This week has seen him get wins over Alexei Popyrin (after losing the first set), fourth seeded Marton Fucsovics (another three setter) and a straight sets win over Marcos Giron in the last eight.

Mikhail Ymer is ranked 90th but was as low as 105 at the end of May.  He made it to the last 32 of the Australian Open this year, not just beating Alcarez but also Hubert Hurkacz, before losing to Stefanos Tsitsipas. It wasn't until July that Ymer managed to get past the last 32 of any tournament. Finally in Gstaad he reached the last eight but didn't beat a player ranked higher than 89th. He won't want to remember that tournament too much as he lost in the last eight to then world 249 Vit Kopriva winning just one game. Another quarter final on clay followed in Austria, where he took Casper Ruud to three sets. This is his first tournament since then and wins have come against Stefano Travaglia in three sets, 11th seeded Albert Ramos-Vinolas, Max Purcell and 13th seeded Frances Tiafoe after losing the first set. Alcarez looks to be in the better form and can get the win here.
