Carlos Alcaraz vs Jiri Lehecka Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Finals
by Daniel Ngulu in Tennis Predictions
Top seed Carlos Alcaraz and unseeded Jiri Lehecka will on Thursday meet in the second round at the Queen’s Club Championship. Advancing from the tie will set up a second-round showdown with either eighth seed Francisco Cerundolo or the qualifier Grigor Dimitrov. Carlos Alcaraz is making his debut in London and will hope to maintain his form as he switches to grass. Winning the tournament will see the current world number two resume the ATP number one spot. So far all is good for the Spaniard. He won his opening-round match against lucky loser Arthur Rinderknech. Alcaraz however looked shaky and needed seven games in each of the final two sets to secure the 2-1 comeback victory. Alcaraz hasn’t played as much on grass over the course of his career. So far he has played seven matches on the surface with five ending in victory.
Jiri Lehecka has also not taken to the grass court that much and so far has six matches on the surface. He has struggled nonetheless and has claimed just two wins. Those two wins however have come this year and it should have him believe he can cause an upset here. The Czech number one started his grass court campaign in Stuttgart where he won one of his two matches. In London, he was more composed than Alcaraz in the first round and won in straight sets against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. He has now managed 25 wins in 41 matches which in turn has moved him to 36th in the live ranking. Lehecka is also making his debut in London.
