Carlos Alcaraz is the top seed in the China Open. He takes on sixth seeded Jannik Sinner for a place in the final against either Alexander Zverev or Daniil Medvedev. A win for Alcaraz will see the world number two in his ninth final of the year but only the third on hard courts. He's still a way behind world number one Novak Djokovic but winning this tournament will boost his chances of winning the ATP Race. The Spaniard hasn't won a title since his success at Wimbledon but remains ultra-consistent. He's made it to the last four in all but one of his last seven tournaments. Alcaraz is yet to drop a set in this tournament with only 17 games lost in his three straight sets wins. In the quarter finals he coasted past seventh seed Casper Ruud 6-4 6-2. He's 3-3 in previous meetings with Sinner but 3-1 up on hard courts. Sinner did win their most recent match in Miami earlier this year.

Jannik Sinner had to go to three sets to beat Grigor Dimitrov in his quarter final. The Italian lost the second set but only dropped two games in the final one to clinch victory. That's taken him up to sixth in the live rankings and if he could beat Alcaraz, he'd move up to fourt. In the ATP Race, he's already in fourth place and close to booking his place in the Tour Finals. This is his first tournament since he was beaten in the last 16 at the US Open. He's also shown great consistency this year and two months ago won the Toronto Masters. He has dropped two sets on his way to this semi-final and we tip Alcaraz to get the win..
