Carlos Alcaraz vs Grigor Dimitrov Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Finals

World number two, Carlos Alcaraz, will face off against qualifier Grigor Dimitrov in the quarter-final of the Queen’s Club Championship on Friday. This will be the third meeting between the pair, with Alcaraz leading 2-0, though they have never met on the grass before. The winner of this match will take on either Sebastian Korda or Cameron Norrie in the semi-final. Alcaraz comes into this tournament looking to get over his disappointment at Roland Garros, where cramp evidently affected his performance in the semi-final against Novak Djokovic. However, he was almost sent packing in his first match here in London against lucky loser Arthur Rinderknech, who pushed the Spaniard to a final set tiebreak. Alcaraz, however, weathered the storm and looked much more comfortable in the following round against Jiri Lehecka, making light work of the Czech in straight sets. The Spaniard’s record this year is now 37-4, and he will relish the opportunity to gain more court time as he builds toward Wimbledon. 

Meanwhile, Dimitrov was forced to take the long way around to enter the competition but was relatively untroubled in the qualifiers, beating Aleksandar Vukic and Arthur Rinderknech in straight sets. The Bulgarian then took on Emil Ruusuvuori in the first round and was not broken once in the match as he claimed the victory in just over an hour. However, his undoubted best performance came in the last round as he overcame eighth-seed Francisco Cerundolo 6-3 7-5. Dimitrov is now 22-11 for the year and 4-0 on the grass. This is certainly not his favoured surface, as he had only managed three wins in ten matches over the last five seasons. He’s never gotten the better of Alcaraz, but with the Spaniard also not looking at his best on the grass, Dimitrov cannot be discounted from this contest.
