It's been a massive week for Carlos Alcaraz who is the third seed in this Shanghai Masters. The Spaniard faces wild card Yibing Wu in the third round of this hard court tournament. Read our match prediction below.

Alcaraz won the China Open earlier this week with a win over world number one Jannik Sinner in a memorable final. The 21-year-old is up to second in both the overall rankings and the ATP Live Race. He's already in the end-of-season Tour FInals.

He's won four singles titles this year and of those, two were in hard court tournaments. Before his China Open victory, Alcaraz won the Indian Wells title. He's won ten matches in a row since being beaten in round two of the US Open.

A first round bye was received in this tournament. He then began his Shanghai Masters campaign with an impressive straight sets win over Juncheng Shang, only losing four games. This is his first match against Wu.

In the latest ranking list, Yibing Wu is a lowly 560th but was as high as 54th in May 2023. The 24-year-old spent several months on the injury list and didn't begin playing this year until the start of April.

He missed May, June and July too but returned to the Challenger Tour in August and won a hard court Challenger Tour event in Janin, though no top 330 ranked players were beaten. He lost his next three matches after that win and retired in both of his last two.

This week has gone well for him with wins over Sumit Nagal and 25th seed Nicolas Jarry. Both were won in straight sets and he only dropped three games against Jarry. He's only the second Chinese player to reach round three in Shanghai Masters. We go for under 19.5 games in this match.
