Carlos Alcaraz vs Daniil Medvedev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP US Open

Carlos Alcaraz is two matches away from successfully defendig his US Open title. He takes on third seeded Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals with the winner taking on either Novak Djokovic or Ben Shelton in the final. Alcaraz will be down to number two in the next world ranking list but is still top of the ATP Race. The Spaniard is in his fourth consecutive Grand Slam semi-final and has already won Wimbledon this year. Only at this year's French Open has he failed to win a Grand Slam semi-final match. His form was a bit worrying coming into this tournament and he described his Toronto performances as "sluggish." In Cincinnati he lost in the final to Novak Djokovic. It's gone better for him in New York though with only Daniel Evans taking a set off him. He has won both of his matches against Medvedev this year and hasn't lost a set to him. One was at Wimbledon, the other at Indian Wells on a hard court surface.

Daniil Medvedev has continued his good form in the US Open. He is bidding to reach his third final and was the champion at Flushing Meadow two years ago. He's won five tournaments this year and four of them have been on hard courts. Those wins came earlier in the year with his last title win in May and that was on clay. The Russian has dropped two sets on his way to this semi-final. The first was against Christopher O'Connell in round two, then Alex de Minaur in the last 16. The quarter finals saw him defeat comptriot Andrey Rublev in straight sets. This has the potential of being a great match but we believe it will be Alcaraz that gets the win and moves into another Grand Slam final.
