Carlos Alcaraz vs Daniil Medvedev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Wimbledon Championships

Carlos Alcaraz has been at this stage before in other Grand Slams but never at Wimbledon. He has dominated on the grass court this year and it is no surprise that he is this close to another Grand Slam final. The reigning US Open champion has won all 10 matches he has played on grass in 2023. He began his streak at Queen's Club where he won his first tour title on grass and did so with only one set dropped. The Spaniard has been as dominant at the All England Club where three of his five victories have been by straight sets. In his last match, he defeated sixth seed Holger Rune 7-6, 6-4, 6-4. Alcaraz will be weary of the threat Medvedev poses despite defeating him at the Indian Wells final earlier this year. The two have played each other twice. Medvedev won the first encounter in the second round here in 2021. Alcaraz has played in six finals so far this year and has won five titles. He did however lose in the semifinals at the French Open. The 20-year-old has been arguably the best-performing player this year with a season record of 45 wins and only four losses.

Daniil Medvedev is also at the semifinal here for the first time in what is his sixth appearance at the tournament. Before this season, Medvedev had only made it to the second week of competition once, which was back in 2021. To advance to this round, the Russian battled for three hours to defeat unseeded Christopher Eubanks in five sets. He lost the second and third sets before recovering to win the last two with the fourth set requiring a tiebreaker. This was his seventh victory in nine outings on grass this season. Medvedev has previously spoken about him finding it hard to play on grass but so far so good for the current world number three. He has dominated just the same as Alcaraz this year and has won 46 of the 54 matches he has played. This form has resulted in six finals and five titles. Winning this round or the final will not shake up his world ranking though but will cause movement in the live race. He is currently ranked third in the live race and winning the tournament will see him assume number one spot. Medvedev has made it to Grand Slam finals four times in his career and has won once.
