Canada and France are expected to be the top two in this group and that result looks more likely after both teams won their opening Group A fixtures. Canada are ranked sixth in the world and finished a worthy fifth in the last tournament. Last year they were the FIBA Americas champions but had a tough start to this year with a poor run at the Commonwealth Games. At least their 2018 World Cup campaign began well as they defeated Greece 81-50 and that's their second straight win. A third should happen here as they build towards a showdown with France to decide the group winner.

South Korea lost their opening game in this group 89-58 to France and know their key game in this group is going to be against Greece as they bid to finish in the top three and qualify for the knock-out stages. This is their first World Cup finals since 2008 and their best performance in World Cup history was a seventh placed finish in 1988. They finished fourth in the Asia Championships held last year. South Korea didn't appear in the recent Asian Games as they teamed up with the North to form a united team that went on to win the silver medal though only three players in their squad were from North Korea.  They are ranked nine places below their opponents and this looks booked for a Canadian win, go for under 136.5 points to be scored in this match.
