Camila Osorio and Magdalena Frech meet yet again this month and will square off at the Guadalajara Open on Monday. The two unseeded players will battle in the first round with the winner playing eighth seed Ekaterina Alexandrova next. Camila Osorio defeated Frech in three sets a week ago in San Diego. The win tightened her hold in this series as she has now won both meetings. Both fixtures have also happened to be on hard courts. The Colombian hasn’t dominated on the surface this season and has lost more matches, seven, in 12 outings. Osorio has compiled a 26-17 record this year and is currently ranked 67th in the live ranking. The 21-year-old was forced to retire in her last match which was in San Diego. She will hope to have recovered fully.

Magdalena Frech is also having a topsy-turvy season and has compiled a 31-27 record. The majority of her wins, 15, have come on hard court but so too have most of her defeats. She has been defeated 17 times on the surface with the last defeat coming against Osorio. Frech made it to the second round in her debut here last season. She will hope to do so again at the very least. The Pole is currently 66th in the live ranking, which is a new career-high.
