Cameron Norrie vs Sebastian Baez Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Lyon Open
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
Top seed Cameron Norrie takes on seventh seeded Sebastian Baez in the Lyon Open quarter finals. There are only three seeds left in the tournament, the other being fourth seeded Alex de Minaur. The winner of this match faces either Holgar Rune, Michael Mmoh or Manuel Guinard in the last four. Norrie is chasing his first ever ATP clay court title and lost in the final here in 2021. The world number 11 is in his second clay court quarter final of the year, the other being in Barcelona. He's won one title this year, being successful in the Delray Beach Open. His first match in this tournament saw him beat unseeded Francisco Cerundolo in straight sets.
Sebastian Baez is the world number 38 and has already won one tournament on the European clay court tour. He was the champion in Estoril, beating Frances Tiafoe in the final. The highest ranked player beaten that week was Marin Cilic who was ranked 23rd at the time. Baez had previously reached the final of a clay court event in Santiago. He has been inconsistent of late though and failed to get past the last 32 in Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Rome. Baez has had to win two matches to get to the last eight. He had an easy win over qualifier Tomas Etcheverry in the first round but then had to go to three sets to get past Oscar Otte after losing the first set. Back Norrie to get the win over his Argentinian rival.
