Cameron Norrie vs Pedro Martinez Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Indian Wells

Cameron Norrie begins the defence of his Indian Wells title. The world number 12 takes on Pedro Martinez with the winner up against either 18th seeded Nikoloz Basilashvili or Fabio Fognini. Norrie made a dreadful start to the new year and lost his first four matches. A good attempt to retain this title didn't look likely at that stage. However, his form has gradually improved with a quarter final reached in Rotterdam. Norrie then headed to the US and won the Delray Beach Open, beating Reilly Opelka in the final. His return to form continued when getting to the final in Acapulco. He beat Stefanos Tsitsipas (who is in his quarter of the draw in this event) before losing to Rafa Nadal in the final.

Now Norrie takes on another Spaniard but Pedro Martinez isn't quite in the class of Nadal. Martinez is the world number 49 which is his highest ever ranking. That's likely to be beaten in the next list as he is up to 46th in the live rankings. Martinez reached the second round of the Australian Open, beating the then world number 38 Federico Delbonis in round one but then being beaten by Cristian Garin after leading by two sets to one. Since then, the Spaniard has been in South America playing four clay court tournaments. He won the Santiago tournament but didn't beat any players ranked higher than 78th. He beat lucky loser Joao Sousa in straight sets to reach the second round of this tournamnent for the second successive year. He's played one previous match against Norrie, losing to him in three sets in the Estoril clay court tournament last year. On this surface, back Norrie to beat him again but in straight sets.
