Cameron Norrie will begin his Indian Wells campaign against fellow unseeded player Luca Nardi. They will battle in the first round, with the winner playing Jiri Lehecka for a place in the third round. Below is our prediction for this match.

Norrie was crowned the BNP Paribas champion in 2021. This remains his only Masters 1000 success. The Brit has never challenged for the title since.

He, however, has made two quarter-final finishes since. Norrie will hope for, at the very least, a second-week appearance to help spark a season turnaround.

He is having a slow season and, through 11 matches, has compiled a 5-6 record. This inconsistent run has seen him drop to 81st in the live ranking.

Norrie, who has lost his last two matches, defeated Nardi on clay in Rome in 2022.

Luca Nardi had an exciting Indian Wells debut last season as he produced a fourth-round finish. He will hope for a similar run to the second week to continue his strong start to the year.

Nardi has won 15 of the 23 matches he has so far contested this season. Alternating between the tour and challenger circuits, he has earned a runner-up finish at the Koblenz Challenger and a quarter-final result in Dubai.
