Cameron Norrie vs Jenson Brooksby Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Indian Wells
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
12th seeded Cameron Norrie continues his defence of his Indian Wells title. He takes on unseeded American Jenson Brooksby in the last 16. The winner of this match will face either Gael Monfils or Carlos Alcarez in the quarter finals. Norrie has recovered well from the slow start he made to this year. His first four matches all ended in defeat but he has moved up a few gears in recent weeks. Norrie won the Delray Beach Open and then lost to Rafa Nadal in the final of the Acapulco event. This week has seen him beat Pedro Martinez and then come from a set down to beat 18th seeded Nikoloz Basilashvili.
Jenson Brooksby has been making huge strides up the rankings list in the past 12 months. This time last year he was the world number 254 but began this tournament in 43rd place. His run to the last 16 of this event has him at 39th in the live rankings. Brooksby has had a light schedule so far this year. He made it to the semi-finals of a Challenger Tour event and then lost in the final of the Dallas ATP 250 tournament in February. In his most recent event, he lost in three sets to Alexander Zverev. So far at Indian Wells, the 21-year-old has beaten Roberto Carballes Baena, Karen Khachanov (for the loss of just three games) and then came from losing the first set 6-1 to beat fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets. This could go either way, go for over 22.5 games to be played.
