Cameron Norrie vs Holger Rune Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP US Open

Cameron Norrie is the seventh seed in the men's singles at the US Open . He takes on 28th seeded Holger Rune in the third round with the winner up against either ninth seeded Andrey Rublev or 19th seed Denis Shapovalov in the last 16. Norrie is beginning to establish himself as a player who can regularly go deep in Grand Slam and Masters events. He is ninth in the world rankings but if he can reach the quarter finals, then he can climb to seventh above Novak Djokovic no less. Norrie made a slow start to this year and that's why he is only 11th in the ATP Race. A main target for him in the coming months will be to maintain his consistency and get into the Tour Finals. The British player got to the semi-finals at Wimbledon (he could have done with that tournament having ranking points) and since then made it to the final in Los Cabos and the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Masters. This week has seen his good form continue with wins over Benoit Paire in straight sets with two of them won 6-0 and then Jaoa Sousa without dropping a set.

Holger Rune is the world number 33 but was seeded due to withdrawals. He will be out for revenge after losing to Norrie in three sets in the last 64 of the Cincinnati Masters. Rune reached the quarter finals of the French Open this year. Clay is his best surface and earlier this year he won a tournament on that surface held in Germany. Before this week he'd played three Grand Slams events other than at Roland Garros and had never made it past the first round in any of them. He broke that losing streak with a win over Peter Gojowczyk in the first round and then received a walkover in the second round when John Isner withdrew. Before this week he'd played eight tournaments in a row without reaching the last eight. Norrie leads him 2-0 in previous meetings having also beaten him on clay in Lyon this year.
