Cameron Norrie vs Casper Ruud Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Australian Open

Two seeds meet in the third round of the Australian Open. Casper Ruud is the 11h seed and that's eight higher than his opponent Cameron Norrie. A place in the last 16 against either sixth seed Alexander Zverev or unseeded Alex Michelsen is at stake here. Ruud was ranked 11th in the world when this hard court Grand Slam began but his run to round three has seen him climb back into the top ten at ninth place. The Norwegian was as high as second in September 2022 but had a mixed time in Grand Slams last year. He made it to the final at Rolan Garros but was knocked out in the second round of each of the other three. This is his first singles tournament of the new year. He played for Norway in the United Cup and won all three of his singles matches all in straight sets. So far in this tournament he's beaten Albert Ramos Vinolas and then came from two sets to one down to beat Max Purcell.

Cameron Norrie had slipped to 22nd in the rankings before the start of this Grand Slam. The Brit is still in that position in the live rankings but a win over Ruud could take him back into the top 20. His Grand Slam record isn't great for a former world number eight. Only twice has he got past the third round of one.and never at the Australian Open. He is an unpredictable player and withdrew from the Auckland event after winning his first match. In this Grand Slam, he's beaten Juan Pablo Virallas in straight sets but then had to go to a final one to defeat qualifier Giulio Zeppieri after losing the first two. He's lost all three previous matches against Casper Ruud. We tip the Norwegian to make that four.
