Cameron Norrie vs Borna Ćorić Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cincinnati Open
by Steve Ashfield in Tennis Predictions
Ninth seeded Cameron Norrie takes on the unseeded Borna Coric in the Cincinnati Masters semi-finals. Norrie is the world number 11 but up to ninth in the live rankings and will climb to a career high eighth if winning this match. A win would also boost his chances of making the ATP Tour Finals. He's currently 11th on that list and will go up to 10th if beating Coric and only 315 points behind eighth place. Norrie has been piling up the ranking points in recent months and has reached at least the semi-finals in three of his last four tournaments. Norrie got to semi-finals at Wimbledon, lost to Daniil Medvedev in the Los Cabos final and here he is in the last four in Cincinnati. If he does get to the final, he'll meet either Medvedev or Stefanos Tsitsipas. Norrie has had wins over Holger Rune (needing three sets), Andy Murray (after losing the first set), Ben Shelton (losing just two games) and then a three set win over third seeded Carlos Alcarez in the last eight.
Borna Coric began this week down at 152nd in the rankings. He only got into this event via a protected ranking. Four years ago he was 12th in the rankings but has been hit hard by injury problems. Coric didn't play his first tournament this year until the Indian Wells event in March. His comeback has taken a while to go well with seven of his first nine matches this year being lost and some of those were on the Challenger Tour. He's had success on clay courts and won a Challenger Tour event in June and the last eight in the ATP event held in Hamburg. He's beaten Lorenzo Musetti, second seed Rafael Nadal (in three sets), 15th seeded Roberto Bautista Agut and Felix Auger-Aliassime (seeded seventh) this week. Norrie is in top form though and he can get the win here, though it might take three sets to do so.
