Cameron Norrie vs Alexander Zverev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Wimbledon Championships
by Steve Ashfield | in ATP Wimbledon Championships Predictions
Fourth seed Alexander Zverev is yet to reach a quarter-final at Wimbledon. Round three sees him take on unseeded Cameron Norrie. For the winner, there’s a match in the last 16 against either 13th seed Taylor Fritz or 24th-seeded Alejandro Tabilo.
Zverev is third in both the live rankings and the ATP Race. Twice he’s made it to the fourth round at Wimbledon, most recently in 2021. He’d only played one grass court tournament before Wimbledon and reached the last four in Halle.
This week has seen him beat both Roberto Carballes Baena and Marcos Giron in straight sets. Only 15 games have been dropped by the German in those two matches. He looks to be in top form and can win this in straight sets.
Cameron Norrie has had seven previous matches against Zverev and lost all of them. This is their first match on grass though. The most recent match they’ve played was in this year’s Australian Open. Zverev won that hard court match but it went to five sets. That’s the only match they’ve had in which Norrie won a set.
Last year he was the 12th seed at Wimbledon but was unseeded this year. His form coming into this tournament wasn’t great with only one win in four matches. He is a former Wimbledon semi-finalist though and has again shown good form in this grass court Grand Slam. He’s won both his matches in straight sets and that includes beating 28th seed Jack Draper.
