Calgary Flames vs Columbus Blue Jackets Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL

The 14-33-9 Columbus Blue Jackets are on the road to take on the 21-21-5 Calgary Flames. Home cooking has not been great for the Flames of late, beaten by the Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers and St Louis Blues in their last three in the Saddledome. They also lost to the Blue Jackets when they met in their fifth game of the season, 1-3 the final score. At that point, the Flames were having an awful start to the campaign, 2-7-1 through their first 10 games. They do not have a star in their team but have a number of players who are contributing at a solid level to keep the team ticking along. Four points out of a playoff spot in the West at the moment, they will see this as a great opportunity to get back in the win column against one of the lesser lights in the league.
This has been a poor season once more for the Blue Jackets, bottom of the Eastern Conference. They have lost their last two games 1-4 and nine of their last 12 have ended in a loss. Only one team have conceded more goals than the Jackets this season which has been a huge factor in their struggles. With one of their star players, Patrick Laine, having a poor season even before he broke his collarbone, they have been seriously lacking in firepower as well, in the bottom 10 in goals scored in the league. They do not have a player with 30 points yet this season, led by ex-Flame Johnny Gaudreau. He has two points in the three times that he has played the Flames, both assists, so would surely love to get himself on the scoresheet once more in a building where he spent the first nine years of his NHL career.
