Sixth seed Lorenzo Musetti continues his bid to reach a second successive final. The Italian takes on Chinese wild card Yunchaokete Bu in the second round of this hard court tournament. Read our match prediction.
World number 18 Lorenzo Musetti was the runner-up in Chengdu last weekend, losing to Juncheng Shang. He's up to 17th in the live rankings and 15th in the ATP Race. Last week was a return to form for the 22-year-old.
He was in great form during the summer on clay and grass courts but had been struggling of late back on hard courts. His campaign in Beijing began with a three-set win over qualifier Zizou Bergs.
Yunchaokete Bu is at 96th in the latest ranking list. That was a career-high but he's already improved that to 89th after reaching the second round of this tournament.
He also had to go to three sets to win his first round match. Bu did what Musetti couldn't last weekend and got a win over Juncheng Shang after losing the first set on a tie-break. He then won the next two for the loss of six games.
That continued his good form after reaching the last four in Hangzhou last week where he had a win over Karen Khachanov. He's had a successful year on the Challenger Tour with two hard court titles won and a couple of other finals also reached.
